Many pretend that scientists, degree-granting institution and researchers are smarter than everyone else. They gather that since they know or take it that they know relentless laws of physics that they are the only ones who can make new discoveries. They take that all concepts worthy of thought or expenditures on innovative experiment will come from their field.

Even if the denial is wrong it may lead one to a new question, which refutes the laws of physics by its observation or blows holes in the strict definition thing used.
