Summary:

As computing experts and microprocessor designers are rapidly reaching the limits of what can be done with silicone, the need for natural solutions such as those based on the human brain (neural networks) or those that use DNA to store and process data (DNA computing) becomes ever more important.

The significance of Biomimetics is perhaps said best in the following quote:

'Nature has been conducting evolutionary experiments for millions of years, so if we're lucky enough to find something close to what we require in nature, then it's very likely to have been highly optimised, and we're unlikely to do much better.' -Greg Parker

Personally, I feel that this something that we should all bear in mind, one flash of inspiration from nature could benefit all of mankind forever.

Article:
Throughout history mankind's progress has been calculated and referred to by his use of materials. Throughout the stone, Titian iron and steel ages these materials made a major contribution to mankind's development. But now in the 21st century, we live in the age of materials. For technology to facilitation further we need to improve all sorts of materials, looking to nature for inspiration.

This exiting field of research is known by several names Bionics, Biomimetics, or Biomimicry. Wikipedia define Biomimetics as

'.. the placement of methods and systems found in nature to the study and design of engineering systems and modern technology. This technology transfer is desirable insofar as evolutionary pressure typically forces natural systems to assimilate to highly optimized and efficient. A nondescript example is the development of dirt- and water-repellent paint (coating) from the observation that the surface of the lotus flower plant is practically unsticky for aught (lotus effect). Examples of automatic electronics results in engineering include hulls of boats imitating the skin membrane of dolphins, sonar, radar, and medical ultrasound imaging imitating echolocation of bats.'

Biomimetics has also been one of the most significant forms of inspiration for 21st moon experimental computer science. Seeking Natures instruction has lead to the conception and development of cybernetics, forced neurones, made-up neural networks, and swarm intelligence. One field of experimental computing has superseded nature by simulating evolution, which has produced highly optimised solutions that have not arisen in nature. This exiting field is known as evolutionary computing (Who'd have guessed that one?).

There are countless inventions so far created through the biomimetic approach. Perhaps the most famous of these was created by Swiss engineer George De Mestral in 1948, who astern a walk one day, was cathartic his dog of burrs and suddenly realised how they worked, and shortly after that created Velcro.

As computing experts and microprocessor designers are rapidly reaching the limits of what can be done with silicone, the need for natural solutions such as those based on the human cognition (neural networks) or those that use DNA to store and process data (DNA computing) becomes ever more important.

Summary:The Big Bang Theory - Evidence Start of Cosmos and Human EvolutionWhat is The Big Bang Theory! It is not merely a Concept or a Theory (The Big Bang Theory) which can be easily understood by the use of the senses alone (as the senses have their own limitations in the physical manifested world). The Big Bang Theory has its origination in a domain which is much beyond the comprehension of the senses and the mind. And it explodes with a Big Bang giving birth to The Big Bang Theory! This Big Ba…

2. The Bill Clinton Neuron And The Sweat Neuron
Summary:In the world of science, there is excited speculation about recent discoveries of individual neurons in the brain, with striking capabilities. How could scientists remain blind to the significance of the Nobel Prize awarded in 2004 to Lynda Buck for the discovery of the recognition processes in the olfactory system? There, Buck had already reported a 'Sweat' neuron and an 'Orange' neuron. So, there were Sweat neurons, Rose neurons and Orange neurons. Could it be that Clinton and Berry neu…

3. Smart Dust and Virtual Keyboards By Lance Winslow
Summary: Using Smart Dust which is sprinkled onto a rock it maybe possible to type information into a small computer or PDA very rapidly. Well, simple really, you find a flat rock and spinkle your micro-electro-mechanical 'Smart Dust and then put on a set of glasses which has a little clip on lens which has a grid pattern of a key board. Article: Using Smart Dust which is sprinkled onto a rock it maybe possible to type information into a small computer or PDA very rapidly. This could be quite …

4. What's the MATTER?
Summary: These might be converted into centimetres, grammes and seconds, or into metres, kilogrammes and seconds - or into something involving minutes or hours, but they remain for all time MASS, DISTANCE and TIME. So mass, distance and time are the three physical 'elements' - or physical 'dimensions'. In motion, their mass becomes 1.0000000000000000000000005 pounds. There is very little difference, and Einstein`s modification to the laws of motion barely disturb calculations that are based on N…
